Inside Your Flash Drive

Recently I located an old flash drive I thought I’d lost so I stick it in my computer to use it for some work. But I couldn’t get it to read. So I thought I’d bust it open instead.

I got this particular drive at Walmart around back to school season about 2 years ago, so for the 10 bucks I spent on it, it was well worth it.

I can sometimes repair these drives because the joints inside just require a little resoldering.

So I ripped it apart in the name of science, and this is what I discovered:

What magic lies inside?!

Not much magic.

Just a little black chip capable of storing a whole lot of info!
